Competency Mapping

The competency mapping concern means establishing different competencies covering all levels required in an organization. The competencies are then generally categorized into four groups attitude based, knowledge driven, skills based and value based. The skills and knowledge competencies vary according to the requirement of various positions. The idea is to ensure a period job, incumbent match as well as to increase motivation and productivity levels. Each position is profiled in terms of competencies which will enable an organization to hire the right person, plug skill gaps in terms of right training and development inputs and pay equitably and competitively. The mapping process helps organizations in the long run to optimize human resource cost.
